Are You Pursuing Any of These AI Initiatives?    "Holding the Bible"

Artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML) have emerged as two of the most revolutionary technologies that will change how we operate. According to estimates by PwC, AI will impact the global economy and potentially contribute to more than $15 trillion by 2030. This impact is only matched by a few technologies in existence today. If you have been looking for the newest artificial intelligence trends, 2022 and beyond will see many initiatives of this technology emerging. Here are some initiatives you should expect in the coming year.

  1. Deep learning in data analysis

One of the biggest additions to the field of AI is deep learning, a subset of machine learning. Deep learning is a way in which machines mimic the human brain. Machines learn by creating layers of artificial neural networks like the human brain and use these to process vast amounts of unstructured data. Neural networks allow machines to learn how to classify or analyze data or any form of input without being programmed or interfered with by humans to perform certain tasks. Although it has been there for a while, deep learning became famous in 2012. Machine learning can be used in different ways, including detecting anomalies or defects in products in manufacturing.

According to IFI Claims Patent Services, the number of machine learning patents is growing at a 46.01 percent CAGR. The growth is stretching across industries ranging from predictive maintenance to product strategy.

  1. Natural language processing drives New AI use cases

Natural language processing (NLP) is a promising area in the AI industry. Basically, NLP is a way in which computers can understand or speak our language. Since the world is made up of human language, NLP is used to analyze data in ways close to human abilities. Unlike back in the day when computers had to translate the human language to code, with NLP, machines can understand the human’s natural language in their state without the need for translation. NLP is used across the world in businesses to extract meaning and keywords and to analyze text. NLP initiatives will likely increase in the future, considering companies such as Google and Facebook are already engaged in such projects. Tools like Grammarly uses NLP to improve grammar across digital environments.

  1. AI and ML are leading a revolution in healthcare

Over the past two years, AI and ML have shown how they can transform the healthcare industry at the height of a disaster like COVID-19. Advancements in AI were a key component in averting the pandemic through research for the best vaccine candidates. It also helped in telemedicine, which has since become famous due to the lockdowns occasioned by the coronavirus. The healthcare emergency caused by the pandemic caused shortages of nurses, doctors and other healthcare workers. Accenture reports that AI can allow nurses to handle more than 20% of patients over the next few years. Accordingly, they also observe that 90% of hospitals have some kind of AI initiative planned for the near future. From this, it is clear that AI will largely define the healthcare sector in the coming years.

  1. Augmented intelligence will enhance human decision-making

With the continued evolution of AI, people are worried that they will one day be replaced. While some disagree with this notion, most people believe that AI will augment human intelligence instead of replacing them altogether. This leads us to the world of augmented intelligence. According to Gartner, AI augmentation will bring more than $2 trillion to the US economy in 2022. The demand for human augmentation is also increasing. Amazon Web Services, for example, released a platform duped A21, which allows developers to find humans to review their Ai systems and models.
