Artificial intelligence (AI) and data-related jobs are the biggest labor market winners in 2020 going forward. With the evolution of machines and the increasing automation that grew faster than anticipated due to the COVID-19 pandemic, AI and big data specialists will be in high demand. A 2018 World Economic Forum (WEF) report titled “The Future of Jobs 2018” stated that machines and algorithms are expected to create about 133 million new roles while causing displacement of about 75 million jobs by 2022. Accordingly, the report indicated that over 50 million net new jobs will be created in the next few years. Although the pandemic has substantially affected many things, positive job growth in this sector is expected, and so is the shift in quality and location of the new roles.
