Researchers are hoping to develop AI that can help an elderly person remain engaged with the world, reports Boston 25 News. 

Computing scientist Osmar Zaïane, of Canada's Alberta Machine Intelligence Institute, envisions "a device that's emotionally intelligent, where an elderly person can say ‘I'm tired' or ‘It's beautiful outside,' or tell a story about their day—and receive a response that carries on the conversation and keeps them engaged

Currently, CRMs don’t have a high adoption rate, but that might change as the new crop of CRMs are rolled out with artificial intelligence, reports Forbes.
